Zenit St. Petersburg defeated Khimki Moscow on the road with an 86-82 victory in the VTB League.
The winning side was paced by Marko Simonovic’s season high of 22 points (4/6 from beyond the arc), including a huge go-ahead three in the final minutes of the game.
Zenit now has a 9-5 record and is only behind Lokomotiv-Kuban for 4th place. Khimki drops into a tie with UNICS in the second place with 12-3.
The top of the league standings still belongs to CSKA Moscow with a 16-1 record after beating Loko at home (70-57) behind 16 points by Nando De Colo and 13 by Daniel Hackett.
