Unics Kazan won the VTB League Game of the Week against fellow Russian powerhouse CSKA Moscow 83 – 73 on the road, thus sweeping the “Army Men” 2-0 in the regular season of the championship.
Jamar Smith scored 15 points, Melvin Ejim added 13 points and seven rebounds while Maurice N’ Dour dropped 13 points as well for Unics that was minus Errick McCollum and Pierria Henry. The visiting squad erupted in the fourth period 29 – 17 to get a result that improved their record to 17 – 4.
For CSKA, that played without Othello Hunter and Alec Peters, Nando De Colo scored 20 points and Sergio Rodriguez 11. Despite the defeat, CSKA remains at the top of the standings with 19 – 4.
