CSKA Moscow defeated Astana 91 – 72 at home to finish its VTB League regular season games with a win despite the absences of Nando De Colo and Cory Higgins.
With this result, CSKA improved its record to 22 – 4. The “Army Men” now wait for one slip by Unics Kazan (18-4) to secure first place and homecourt advantage for the entirety of the playoffs. If Unics wins all remaining matches, they become the top-seeded team since they’ve beaten CSKA twice this season.
Astana is now sixth with 14-9.
Kyle Hines scored a team-high 18 points and Daniel Hackett had 16 points for CSKA. From Astana’s side, J.J. O’ Brien finished with 25 points and 10/11 2-pointers.
