Unics Kazan beat visiting Zenit with a tight 74-72 victory in the VTB League game of the week and expanded its record to 19-4.
Maurice Ndour paced the winning side with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Jamar Smith posted 12 points and six assists.
Jalen Reynolds registered a game-high for Zenit with 20 points, as the St. Petersburg side fell to a 14-9 record in the standings, a tie with Astana.
Unics resisted Zenit’s pressure, as the latter trimmed the deficit to one point (70-69) with a little over a minute remaining and two pairs of free throws by Ndour and McCollum sealed the final result for the hosts.
