Zenit St. Petersburg broke through Krasnodar and with a 78-69 victory in Game 1 of the playoffs against Lokomotiv got ahead in the series on the road.
Evgeny Voronov and Anton Pushkov led Joan Plaza’s squad with 12 and 11 points each in a low-scoring battle.
On the other side of the court, Loko had Dmitry Kulagin posting 18 points and eight rebounds in 35 minutes on the floor.
Game 2 between the two will take place Monday, once again in Krasnodar.
So far in the VTB playoffs series, CSKA Moscow strolled past Nizhny Novgorod for 1-0, while Unics also leads 1-0 against Kalev.
