Astana’s Emil Rajkovic was named VTB League Coach of the Year, as the league announced Friday.
The 40-year-old coach has been a revelation this season, leading Astana to the quarterfinals series against Khimki Moscow, in his first major league experience.
Rajkovic took over the Kazakhstan side in 2018 and is looking establish himself in the VTB League with a great run of the team this season. Khimki might be a tough opponent to overcome in the playoffs, though finishing 6th in the regular season in a highly competitive league is an achievement of its own.
