Alexey Shved put another strong performance in the VTB League playoffs and led Khimki Moscow to a 103-98 road win over Unics Kazan tying the series at 1-1.
Shved notched a double-double with 25 points and ten assists while also adding two rebounds and two steals. Andrey Zubkov added 14 and in addition to Jordan Mickey and Malcolm Thomas’ 13 points each.
For Unics, Errick McCollum banked 23 points followed by Jamar Smith with 20 and Melvin Ejim with 18 points.
After a balanced first half after which Khimki had the minimal 48-47 lead, they kept the control and eventually held a 98-91 lead with 1:30 left. Although Unics scored five straight points, Shved and Charles Jenkins stayed calm at the free throw line and secured the win for the guests.
Game 3 of the best-of-five series will be played on Monday (27/5) as the home-court advantage switches sides.
