The VTB League announced that Khimki Moscow guard Alexey Shved is the 2018-2019 MVP of the regular season of the championship.
This is the second VTB League season MVP award Shved wins following the one of 2017.
Per VTB League:
Khimki guard Alexey Shved has been named the 2018-19 VTB United League regular season MVP.
The Most Valuable Player award is presented by ALROSA, the world leader in diamond mining and Russia’s biggest producer of diamonds. Like a diamond, the MVP meets the highest demands in every facet of the game.

The award ceremony took place today in Khimki prior to Game 3 of the Khimki – UNICS playoff semifinals. The League’s general director Ilona Korstin presented the MVP award to Shved.
Alexey Shved led the League in scoring (22.8) and +/- rating this season (+12.9), and was second in assists (6.9) and fourth in efficiency rating (19.5).
Shved also was named MVP of the Month twice, in October and March.
Khimki Moscow Region finished in third place in the regular season with a 20-6 record. Khimki was 14-1 with Shved on the court and 6-5 without him. The Russian guard was the unquestioned leader of the team and one of the League’s most exciting, productive players with the ability to take over any game.
