CSKA shot 11/20 from behind the arc and had everything under control against Khimki on their way to a 103-92 home win and now lead the VTB League Finals 2-0.
Sergio Rodriguez scored 16 points on 4-5 shooting from deep followed by Nando De Colo, Cory Higgins and Othello Hunters’ 14 points each.
CSKA started the game with a 19-4 run and went on the halftime rest with a 55-37 lead. Khimki managed to cut the gap to nine points after the break (64-55) as well as twice in the fourth quarter (80-71; 101-92) but CSKA didn’t allow them to go any further and secured the win.
In the absence of Alexey Shved and Janis Timma due to injuries, Antonio Crocker stepped up nailing game-high 26 points (5-7 triples) in addition to Viacheslav Zaitcev’s 15 points.
Game 3 of the best-of-five series will be played on June 10 as the home court advantage switches sides and Khimki tries to stay alive in front of their fans.
