CSKA Moscow is the 2018-2019 VTB United League champion. The “Army Men” beat Russian side Khimki Moscow 80 – 62 in Game 3 of the Finals to sweep the series.
This is the eighth straight VTB League championship title and 10th overall in the history of the club for CSKA.
Cory Higgins scored a game-high 23 points for the winning squad in what was his last game with the jersey of CSKA. Othello Hunter added 15 points and eight rebounds while Nikita Kurbanov scored 12 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out five assists. Their team dominated the first half 43 – 28 and retained control for the remainder of the match since Khimki never managed to cut its deficit to single digits.
For Khimki, that was without top scorer and reigning VTB League MVP Alexey Shved plus Janis Timma, Vyacheslav Zaytsev had 22 points and eight rebounds and Jordan Mickey 15 points.
