Isaiah Whitehead signed with Kazakh VTB League team Astana, the club officially announced. The American guard is returning to VTB where he spent the first half of 2018-2019 as a player of Lokomotiv Kuban.
Whitehead, 24, averaged 11.0 points, 3.4 assists and 3.3 rebounds in eight games of his debut EuroCup campaign. After the player parted ways with Lokomotiv Kuban in January 2019, he joined the Detroit Pistons on a two-way contract. He posted 19.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.3 assists in the G-League.
Before Loko, Whitehead played 89 games in the NBA with the Brooklyn Nets from 2016 to 2018.
