Darral Willis put on a strong double-double performance and gave Nizhny Novgorod an 82-77 home win against Tsmoki-Minsk in VTB League. Nizhny improved to a 3-1 record while Tsmoki is still awaiting the first win (0-3).
Willis scored game-high 28 points on 12-18 shooting while also grabbing ten rebounds. Brandon Brown added 16 and Georgy Zhbanov ten points.
For Tsmoki, Alexandre Gavrilovic scored 16 in addition to Branko Mirkovic’s 15 and Dominez Burnett’s 13 points. Mirkovic also dished ten assists.
After a balanced first quarter (18-18), the hosts went to the halftime rest with a 44-41 lead. They dominated the third quarter to increase the gap to as much as 18 points (68-50) and although Tsmoki made a big comeback effort in the fourth, it was too late to change the outcome.
