The ongoing debate about the control of European clubs competitions continues to be an issue for the Adriatic league. With a letter send yesterday to the federations which have clubs in the ABA League, FIBA asks for the position of the national federations towards the regional league.
However, considering the decisions already taken by FIBA Europe, since ABA League includes clubs which participate in Eurocup, the de-recognition seems more than a likely possibility. This is the letter send by FIBA to the federations, thanks to Yugobasket.
Still, the situation remains quite complex with everyone not eager to take any responsibility for the possible sanctions. The Slovenian basketball federation already announced via an other letter that Slovenian clubs are forbidden to play in the ABA League, because FIBA has suspended the league.
