Hakim Warrick is the the player that Olympiacos has chosen to bolster its frontline. The Greek club had only hours to register a player that will be eligible to play in the second leg of the Euroleague Top 16 and Warrick was the chosen one, as it was officially announced.
After attempting to sign a player from the NBA like Andrea Bargnani or Jason Thompson with no result, the Greek champions turned their attention to ex NBA-er Hakim Warrick, who has played in the best league of the world for 8 years.
Warrick’s position in the NBA was the one of a power forward. With great jumping skills, the characteristics of his game included some spectacular dunks. But he wasn’t such a keen shooter from long range, and that is why he didn’t take many three-point shots.
He has spent 4 seasons in the Memphis Grizzlies, one in the Milwaukee Bucks, two in the Chicago Bulls, two in the Phoenix Suns and he last played in the NBA for the Charlotte Hornets, in 2013.
Then he moved to China, where he played for the Liaoning Flying Leopards. We first watched him in Europe with the Turkish Konyaspor. In the Turkish League, Warrick had 17.6 points and 7.7 rebounds in 27 minutes of playing time.
Warrick is arriving to Olympiacos from Australia, where he played for the Melbourne United, averaging 11.9 points and 5.6 rebounds in the 18 minutes he stayed on court per game.
After he left Australia, he received some offers by Tofas Bursa and Galatasaray, being quite close to a deal.
