By winning 99-89 Bayern Munich got a solid edge against Galatasaray for their quarterfinal re-match in Istanbul. The German team shot the ball immensely well from downtown, finishing the game with 10/16 and dominated the boards to overpower its opponents.
The two big guys of Bayern, Deon Thompson and John Bryant, combined for 10 offensive rebounds, giving more and more possessions to their team, that produced lucrative numbers on offense. Thompson was also the first scorer for the Bavarians with 20, while Dusko Savanovic filled the opposing basket with 19.
Galatasaray made numbers as well but failed to defend appropriately enough for such a crucial game. Vladimir Micov was the first scorer with 22 points.
