This is the sixth consecutive year in which the Phoenix Suns will not participate in the NBA playoffs, marking what is perhaps the worst period ever in the club’s history.
Since freshening up and strengthening the roster for the upcoming season is probably of major concern to the people of the club, one can easily understand why the Suns might soon want to bring some new faces on board. Players who can provide something extra or rejuvenating to what team presents on court right now. And Bogdan Bogdanovic, a first round 2014 draft pick by the Suns, quite possibly belongs in that category.
Ryan McDonough, General Manager of the Phoenix Suns spoke to the “Burns & Gambo Show” of Arizona Sports radio, explaining what does the club has in mind for the Serbian international shooting guard.
“We’re going to meet with Bogdan after the season”, revealed McDonough. “He does have ways to get out of his contract with Fenerbahce and come to the NBA. We’ll present a plan for him about how we envision his role with the Suns”.
“I think the exciting part for us is that he has produced at a high level in Europe and also at the World Championship” added the GM of the Suns who thinks that Bogdanovic’s adjustment in the NBA might be quite smooth. “He does have a very high level of experience. In terms of coming to the NBA, he’d obviously be a rookie by NBA standards, but if we are able to bring him over this year – which we’d like to do if we can – then at 24 years old, we think he’d be one of the more ready-made guys to plug in and be able to hopefully play right away”
