As French newspaper “L’Equipe” reports, Rudy Gobert’s agent Bouna Ndiaye traveled to Salt Lake City in order to negotiate the possible extension of his client contract with the Jazz.
Gobert can get a, record for a French athlete, five year $ 143 million deal – Nicolas Batum currently holds the record for France in any sport – and Ndiaye wants to know if Utah is willing to offer such a deal: “This is a big question mark. Until now, we just didn’t have the right to talk about money with the teams. And you have to know that Utah has no obligation to sign a deal this summer. It is possible to wait for October or next year. So we go there to discuss the things both sides want and to see if our positions are close or not”.
It’s still unclear if Utah is ready to offer such a contract, however the final word of Ndaye was the following: “If what they have in mind is close to what we can imagine, then things can be done quickly!”
