The mighty Dirk remains a Dallas resident. As Marc Stein of ESPN reported, the German superstar and the Mavericks have come to terms of a new two-year, $40 million deal.
Dirk Nowitzki had opted out of his existing contract with the Mavs and become a free agent. Although he was on the list of teams like the Golden State Warriors, it was more or less well known that he never thought of leaving the team with which he has played since 1998!
His decision to become a free agent was basically made in order to help the Mavs use a larger part from their salary cap in order to significantly improve their roster for the upcoming season.
Story online soon @espn: Mavs and Dirk Nowitzki have come to terms on the framework of a new two-year, $40 million deal, league sources say.
