Olimpia Milano has agreed on terms with Ricky Hickman on a 1+1 contract. The player arrives to Milan coming from Fenerbahce.
Hickman played high school ball at East Forsyth, North Carolina. He moved just a little to play college ball at UNC-Greensboro from 2003 to 2007. He started his European career in Hungary, in Pecs, then he moved to Romania where he played for Otopeni of Bucarest. In 2008, he signed for Gottingen in Germany second division but was transferred to Giessen mid-season. In 2009/10 he played in Lahti, Finland scoring 23.7 points per game. At the end of the season he went to Casale Monferrato where in 2011 was MVP of the Italian second league winning the championship. He signed for Pesaro, then moved to Maccabi for two years and finally Fenerbahce for two more seasons.
With 1544 points scored in 116 games, Hickman is the fourth All-time best scorer at UNC-Greensboro where he played for three years along CSKA Moscow star, Kyle Hines. He was included three times in All-Southern Conference teams. Hickman also played the 2013 European championship with Georgia. He’s been twice Euroleague’s MVP of the week. When Maccabi eliminated Olimpia in the 2014 Euroleague playoffs he averaged 16.5 points per game in the series while shooting 50.0% from three, 91.3% from the line. He also had 4.5 assists per game. In game 1 he had 36 of index rating. In the final game, won in Milano against Real Madrid, he scored 18 points with six boards, 7/8 from the line.
