Giannis Antetokounmpo is the franchise player of the Milwaukee Bucks and that was confirmed today. The Greek Freak signed a four year extension with the team for a total of $100 millions as Adrian Wojnarowski reported first.
This deal makes Giannis one of the best paid players in the league and with an average salary of $25 million, Dirk Nowitzki is the only other player not born in the States who had such a annual revenue. The 21 years old player is expected to be the Bucks point guard this season, despite being 2,10 m. tall. This fact alone makes him a unique player.
After being picked no15 in the 2013 draft, Antetokounmpo evolved quickly from a Greek second division player to a global basketball star. He is still 21 years old and it’s obvious that the Bucks decided to build their future around him.
The Milwaukee Bucks announced the deal and the contract will be finalized tomorrow afternoon at a press conference to be held at the recently-launched Wisconsin Entertainment and Sports Center (WESC) Preview Center.
