It’s not a secret that Ante Zizic is going to be the main man in Cibona Zagreb this season, but what happened on Sunday night against MZT Skopje in the Adriatic league was beyond amazing.
Cibona got the 89-85 overtime win and Zizic played almost for the whole game. To be exact the 23rd pick of the recent draft by the Boston Celtics stayed on the court for 44.17 minutes – his teammate Zeljko Sakic also had the exact same number of minutes played – for a total of 37 points (14/19 2p., 9/10 FT), 20 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 assists, 1 steal and 5 turnovers.
Considering the fact that he is just 19 years old and playing in a major European domestic league, this is no small feat. Quite the contrary.
Cibona has a 3-1 record so far in the league with Zizic averaging 24,25 points and 9,75 rebounds per game.
