During a game with many ups and downs Bilbao managed to beat Barcelona and stay on the top of the Spanish Liga Endesa with a 4-0 record.
The hosts got the 92-79 win against the team of coach Giorgos Bartzokas which was obviously battered up after playing on Friday in Kazan against Unics for Euroleague. The game started with Bilbao getting a 27-4 lead, Barcelona answered with a 22-0 run (27-26) and at half time the hosts were up by four (38-34).
While every one was expected for Barcelona to continue the come back, this didn’t happened. Led by Alex Mumbru, Bilbao entered the last quarter leading by 8 points (68-60) and kept the advantage until the end.
Mumbru finished the game with 25 points, Scott Bamford was the top scorer with 25 points making big shots down the stretch and for the losing side which now has a 2-1 record in the Spanish league Tyrese Rice tried his best with 29 points and 6 assists. Juan Carlos Navarro was hurt during the game and played only 1,5 minute.
