Just hours after the news of him parting ways with EA7 Emporio Armani Milano, Alessandro Gentile said goodbye to the club and its fans, while keeping also the door open for a return.
As he wrote in instragam “I don’t know if it’s until we meet again or goodbye” and the question about his future remains. It’s a given that he will not play again until the end of the season again with the Italian champions, but according to Eurohoops sources, there’s not a deal in place with an other club in order for him to be loaned.
Both the player and EA7 Emporio Armani Milano decided that this solution was the best for both sides and now it remains to be seen which will be the club which will take on loan until the end of the season the player. What is already confirmed is that Fenerbahce is not interested on his case.
The only condition from Milano to the player is that he will not be loaned to an other Italian club, so anything else is possible. After all the player still has a valid contract until the summer of 2018 and this fact complicates the – more than small – possibility of him signing with the Rockets, who still have his NBA rights. There’s no formula which can permit the player to be loaned from a European club to an NBA team and according to the NBA-FIBA agreement, the NBA team would have to buy out his contract in order to get him.
Gentile’s full message is the following: “We have won together, we lose together, we cried together, we rejoiced together, we wrote small pages of history for this glorious club, we have known the bitter taste of disappointments… Thank you for the love, the hate, the praise , criticism .. I do not know if it’s until we meet again or goodbye .. I just know that I am grateful for the opportunity that I have had and I am proud of what has been done in good times and bad, as I was always giving my all.. Thanks to mister Armani which allowed me to spend those six years with you .. Olimpia Milano will always be part of me. You can’t erase history. Thank you all”.
