An offensively brilliant fourth quarter helped Alba Berlin escape Vilnius with a 99 – 97 victory over Lietuvos Rytas and finish the Eurocup regular season with a 4-4 record. Rytas could have advanced to the Top 16 with a win but its qualification is postponed now.
David Logan, one of the best players of the Lithuanians with 16 points, had a huge chance from the free throw line to send the game to overtime with two seconds to go, but went 0/2.
Alba had made sure to reach the final minutes at a pole position, particularly thanks to an amazing 2-12 partial score which made the 81 – 77 to 83 – 89 almost in the blink of an eye during the fourth quarter.
Elmedin Kikanovic was once again the go-to-guy for the Albatrosses with 29 points, scoring the lost to help his team overcome a 54 – 47 halftime deficit and get closer at the final stretch. Dragan Milosavljevic added 19 plus 5 assists.
Rokas Giedraitis had 16 points, as many as Logan, for Rytas.
