Maccabi Tel Aviv overcame a rather tenacious Ironi Nahariya with a 99 – 93 overtime victory at home, to remain at the top of the Israeli Winner League with a 9 – 1 record.
Andrew Goudelock was the “go to guy” for Maccabi since not only did he drop 22 points, but also sank a crucial 2/2 from the free throw line that sent the game in OT (89-89). He buried another pair of key free throws in the last stretch of the extra period to push his team closer to victory by making the 95- 93 with less than minute left.
Nahariya didn’t deliver in the other end and Colton Iverson (13 points) made 2/2 after winning a foul. The guests lost another chance, which was proven to be their last one since time was running down against them.
The only thing they managed to do was foul Sonny Weems (13 points) who “wrote” the final score from the line.
Gal Mekel added 15 points for Maccabi Tel Aviv while Gilbert Brown scored 19 for Ironi Nahariya.
