Krunoslav Simon dropped 19 points and grabbed 4 rebounds, Miroslav Raduljica added 15 and 4 boards, helping Olimpia Milano get back on a winning track by beating Enel Brindisi 99 – 86 at home.
The defending champs improved their Italian league record to 11 – 1 while Brindisi now stands at a 6-6 situation. Coach Sacchetti’s players had managed to remain competitive for the first 30 minutes, but in the fourth quarter, their hosts took charge.
Milano was up only by one, 73 – 72 in the beginning of the final period but scored quick points to make it 82 – 75 and then turned the 89 – 82 into 96 – 82 within two minutes, taking a safe advantage.
Robert Lawrence (19 points) and Durand Scott (17 points) stood out from the losing side, while apart from Simon and Raduljica Rakim Sanders had 13 points plus 5 rebounds for Milano.
