Crvena Zvezda extended its impressively unspoiled ABA League record to 17 – 0 after defeating Mega Leks 81 – 69 away from home on overtime thanks to 16 points and 9 rebounds by Ognjen Kuzmic plus a double-double of 10 points/11 assists by Stefan Jovic.
Ognjen Jaramaz dropped 15 points and dished out 5 assists while Kostja Mushidi added 14 points for the losing side which now stands at 5 – 12 in ABA standings.
The young studs of Mega Leks managed to come back from a 10-point deficit (49 – 59, 2 minutes in the fourth quarter) and put up quite the fight against their powerful and more experienced opponents. Jaramaz’s accuracy from the free-throw line forced the extra period, but he and his teammates couldn’t finish the job in the end.
Red Star entered overtime with a 0 – 7 run taking an important advantage which paced them to victory. When Branko Lazic made it 69 – 79 with a bit more than 1 minute to go, it was over.
