NBA’den sonra geçtiğimiz sezonu Hapoel Jerusalem’de geçiren ve İsrail Ligi’nde şampiyonluğa ulaşan Stoudemire basketbola devam etmeme kararı aldı.

Instagram adresinde emeklilik kararını açıklayan Stoudemire, “Takımda bir sezon daha oynamak isterdim ancak koç, yönetim ve ben, gelecek sezon takıma daha fazla katkı yapmamı sağlayacak bir yol bulamadık. Artık hissedar pozisyona geri dönmeli ve bu takımı daha da iyi hale getirmek için yardımcı olmalıyım ” ifadelerini kullandı.

34 yaşındaki Amare, NBA Draft 2002’de 9. sıradan seçilirken, NBA’de Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks ve Miami Heat forması giydi. 8 kere efsane olan yoldız oyuncusu, 2003’te yılın çaylağı seçilirken, 2007’de yılın takımına seçildi.
