Philadelphia 76ers‘ın oyun kurucusu Ben Simmons, bu sezon Sixers‘ın en iyi savunmacısı olmak istediğini dile getirdi.
Simmons’ın 2019-2020 sezonundaki tek kişisel hedefi ise Yılın Savunmacısı ödülünü kazanmak.
The Athletic’ten Derek Bodner’a konuşan Simmons, şunları söyledi:
“Takımdaki en iyi savunmacı olmak istiyorum. Umarım takımdaki herkes bunu duyar ve aynı şeyi yapmaya çalışırlar. Yılın Savunmacısı ödülünü kazanmak dışında kişisel bir hedefim yok.”
Ben Simmons: “I want to be the best defensive player on the team, so hopefully everybody on my team hears that and they strive to do the same thing.” Simmons says he doesn’t have personal goals, except for winning Defensive Player of the Year.

Ben Simmons, bu yaz Sixers ile beş yıllık 170 milyon dolar değerinde yeni bir kontrat daha imzaladı. Sixers kadrosunda ise Simmons’ın yanı sıra Josh Richardson, Al Horford ve Joel Embiid gibi elit savunmacılar bulunuyor ve bu takım gelecek sezon savunmada rakiplerine ciddi bir tehdit olabilir.
Simmons, geçen sezon 16,9 sayı, 8,8 ribaund ve 7,7 asist ortalamaları ile oynarken 42 double-double ve 10 triple-double’a imza attı.
