The vision of Giorgos Printezis for a 3X3 tournament in his native Greek island of Syros turned out to be one of the biggest basketball events in Europe this summer.
A total of 20 professional athletes and almost 1000 participants of every age have the chance to compete in the LG Aegeanball Festival basketball tournament, play against their idols on the court and enjoy the Greek summer and the Aegean sea. The games were held in the main square of Ermoupoli, the capital of the island, in front of the iconic Mayor’s Manor.
The VIP category of the tournament includes well known basketball stars of the present and the recent past, like Theodoros Papaloukas, Vasilis Spanoulis, Nikos Zisis, Sofoklis Shortsanitis, Milan Tomic, Michalis Kakiouzis, Giannis Bourousis, Kostas Vasileiadis, Kostas Papanikolaou, Dimitris Papanikolaou, Nikos Pappas, of course the host Giorgos Printezis and last but not least the captain of the Turkish national team Sinan Guler.
The LG Aegeanball Festival, which has FIBA’s auspices, is televised by the Greek national television and Eurohoops is the official digital media sponsor of the event.
