Filip Petrusev announced on April 26 (deadline day) that he will be among the prospects participating in the 2020 NBA Draft. However, the 20-year-old Serb hasn’t hired an agent and kept an open mind:
“It is my dream to one day play at the highest level so I am entering the 2020 NBA draft, but I am still considering a return to Gonzaga,” Petrusev said, per AP News. “There is still a lot of uncertainty with what might happen to next year’s NCAA season as well as the NBA draft, this gives me more time to evaluate that and leave all the options open.”
Petrusev also put his name in the draft after his freshmen season but this time around, he does it after taking on a bigger role in the team. He led the Gonzaga Bulldogs in scoring (17.5 points per game) and rebounding (7.9 per game) this past season.
He also had a strong summer with the Serbian U19 squad at the 2019 World Cup leading at as the top performer (27 PIR), averaging a double-double (19.3 points, 10.1 rebounds).
